Job Description
Technical Project Manager (TPM)
A leading technology company is currently seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join their team. This role is vital in driving efficiency and ensuring alignment across various departments within the organization, which follows a matrix structure. As the company continues to grow, managing cross-functional collaboration has become increasingly complex, and they are looking for a dedicated TPM to streamline processes and enhance communication across teams.
As a TPM, you will be responsible for overseeing structured project roadmaps, maintaining seamless communication, and ensuring that engineering, product, and platform teams have the information they need to avoid blockers and stay on track. Your work will help scale operations more efficiently by reducing overhead for engineers and product managers, allowing them to focus on executing the core tasks. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic project manager who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys solving challenges related to team collaboration, risk management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Cross-functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with distributed interdisciplinary teams and act as a trusted partner to ensure alignment on product and feature development across engineering, product, and platform teams.
Risk Identification and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks and barriers that could impact project timelines and delivery. Address issues early to prevent roadblocks, ensuring smooth progress and on-time delivery of features and products.
Process Improvement: Champion continuous improvement of development processes by adapting and implementing best practices. Tailor workflows such as scrums, planning sessions, and review meetings to the specific needs of each team.
Project Communication: Ensure transparency and effective communication across teams and stakeholders. Keep everyone informed on priorities, goals, and project progress through structured check-ins and comprehensive project roadmaps.
Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the executive team to manage strategic initiatives, ensuring that operational processes are aligned with the company’s broader goals. Track and measure the outcomes of these initiatives to drive success.
Coordination and Execution: Streamline cross-team dependencies, ensuring teams have the necessary resources and information to avoid inefficiencies. Alleviate coordination overhead for engineers and product managers, allowing them to focus on execution.
Leadership in Uncertainty: Provide adaptive leadership in response to evolving project scopes or shifting priorities. Maintain flexibility in problem-solving approaches while keeping the teams focused and productive.
Accountability and Visibility: Foster a culture of accountability where all stakeholders have a clear understanding of timelines, project statuses, and potential risks, building trust and enhancing collaboration.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in a project management role within a technology company.
Proven track record in managing and executing complex projects, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
Strong experience working across various technologies, including infrastructure, data, mobile, frontend, and backend systems.
Proficiency in tools such as Slack, Google Suite, and GitHub for collaboration and project tracking.
Demonstrated ability to unite and motivate distributed teams across multiple time zones in a dynamic, iterative environment.
Exceptional skills in mediating between different priorities and personalities to create alignment and consensus.
Proven experience influencing stakeholders and driving decision-making across cross-functional teams.
Salary Range: $85,000 – $175,000 USD (Global salary range, paid in local currency based on location)
